Temporary Vessel Diversion – January Update

Following the incident involving the vessel, Maersk Hangzhou, on 30 December, The shipping line has taken the decision to temporarily suspend all transits through the Red Sea/Gulf of Aden until further notice.

An ongoing investigation into the incident has forced the shipping line to exercise caution, and consequently, has had to suspend all cargo movement through the area.

This suspension will persist as they assess the continuously evolving situation. In instances where it is deemed most prudent, vessels will be rerouted to continue their journey around the Cape of Good Hope. The latest diversion and contingency plans can be found on Maersk.com.

This decision has been made with the paramount goal of ensuring the safety of seafarers and the cargo aboard these vessels.

The shipping line is dedicated to minimising the impact on your supply chain and will provide us with regular updates on the situation. Should you have any inquiries or wish to discuss the options for your cargo, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We acknowledge and appreciate your patience as we navigate this challenging situation.
