Following the previous eight-day strike in August this year, workers at Felixstowe port have now announced a two week notice before further strike action, planned for Tuesday 27th September to 5th October, due to the ongoing pay dispute.
“Last month, Unite members voted in favour of industrial action by a majority of 92% as part of a pay dispute, with the union holding out for a 10% pay increase.”
The planned strike will clash with the Liverpool port strike and if all goes ahead, will inevitably cause major delays to shipping and road transportation.
